The National Theatre of Namibia (NTN) in partnership with the National Arts Council (COVID-19 Relief Fund), announce the Open Call for freelance writers to submit unpublished, short scripts to be developed into Radio Dramas by the NTN. The theatre calls for scripts written in Namibian indigenous languages that feature topical issues facing communities nationwide. All genres and topics are eligible.
Successful freelance writers will be granted 3000 NAD each as a form of financial relief amid effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Namibian Creative Sector.
Selected writers are expected to submit proofread and edited drafts of the short scripts (15-20 pages).
Applications opened: 19 February 2021
Applications close: 23 March 2021 (00H00)
- All applications to be supported with an English written synopsis for a clear understanding of what the story is about.
- Submitted scripts to be typed, no less than 15 pages, font size 12. No handwritten scripts will be reviewed.
- Late submissions will not be reviewed.
- Already published works will not be reviewed.
